Animal Farm (Ferma Animalelor)
Ferma Animalelor is a huge hit with children as it offers up-close experiences with farm animals. The animals are well looked after and a visit can include watching feeding time as well as opportunities to pet and feed the animals yourself (feed can be bought from the shop). Other activities on offer include the popular pony rides, puppet shows and a number of playground areas.
Although it is possible to get to the farm by public transport (full details are on the Ferma Animalelor website), most visitors will drive as the location is out of the city of Bucharest. There is an on site restaurant and the gift shop has a good range of items on sale. There is ample space on site for you to bring your own picnic too as there are picnic tables and grassy areas in the sun and the shade. You can easily spend half a day here with the animals and playing.
New: Ferma Animaleror offer kids parties (you can hire one of the shaded picnic areas for half a day) and a 12-month subscription ticket. The annual pass can be bought on the day of your visit (weekends can be busy though) or arranged in advance, and is well worth considering if you plan to visit more than 6 times a year.

We thoroughly enjoyed the farm with a good mix of close up farm animal experiences and playgrounds. The restaurant is only open at weekends though so bring a picnic if you go midweek else you’ll be dinning on Pom bear crisps and other shop snacks!! The pony riding was a huge hit for my lot. Tickets are purchased from the shop (approx 8 lei to go round twice and 4 to go round once).
this is. a great place : bathrooms with changing facilitities ( you may have to ask for the key at reception) now they have a restaurant and also areas with benches if you want to bring your own picnic,
animals are well kept, kids can feed the animals, play in playarea, you can purchase fresh milk and cheese.
possible to pay with card,
We brought our 1 year old at the weekend. She absolutely loved it. It’s a great way to pass a few hours. As said in earlier reviews you can get close to the animals and our daughter enjoyed chasing the ducks as well as playing in the playgrounds.
There are baby change/breast feeding facilities on the grounds. They accept credit/debit card payments too for those of you who, like us, realise too late that you haven’t brought enough cash!
I would definitely agree with the earlier review. I took my 3 year old daughter this morning and she thoroughly enjoyed herself. Lots of opportunities to feed the goats and sheep as well as take a pony ride and play on swings e.t.c. Will be returning soon!
A very nice and clean place, even more after the renovation this year. Kids can see (and touch and feed) the animals very close (which is not possible at all in the Bucharest Zoo, where animals often are far away and fences exactly on the height of children´s eyes).
Traffic can be callinging during weekdays, but at the weekend it takes you 20 min to get there. It is a nice walk, play and picnic combination.
