Planning a birthday party can be a lot of fun, but can also cause a lot of stress!  Whether you are new in town, or have been here for years, every kids birthday party presents a new challenge.  This feature will hopefully highlight a few well-recommended venues and part service providers that might help ease the birthday blues!

Where to host the party?
It is worth noting that most activity venues offer some sort of party package or group discount, even if this is not advertised.  If you kids enjoy an activity it is worth approaching them about a deal.  Party packages can range from group entry, to catering (often not including the cake) and entertainers.
If your youngster has a lot of energy, then you might want to consider somewhere where they can really enjoy themselves.  Jolie Ville Kids House (Bucharest with Kids discount available) and Kiddo in Pipera both offer party packages that include entry and catering (bring your own cake). House of Bounce is a popular party venue with primary-aged children and Ferma Animalelor in Pantelemon offers different sized rooms depending on your needs. For older kids you might consider bowling (Grand Combo in Baneasa have a dedicated party room, and Trick Shot can also be hired), Stalingrad laserquest or Escape Rooms downtown.  Edenland is open all year round and offers various packages with different activities, group-size and catering options. For something a little different, Bistro Street Artelier offer cooking classes/parties for kids and Oraselul Cunoas has a party room and hands-on science.

Hosting the party at home?
This is a great option and allows for you to theme the party in your own way. For party supplies, a trip to Jumbo is well recommended. Other party suppliers include Balloon (for balloons and other items), stationers like Diverta and Autograf have party supplies and items such as face paints. If you have a theme for your party and are looking for fancy dress costumes then consider Mia (a charity who can hand-make to your specifications)  You might want to consider hiring a kids entertainer / animator who will often play games, make balloon creations and face paint ( is all I have recommended anyone else got a recommendation?) or a photographer to help document your special day.
If you are going to have a themed party you might like to buy some fancy dress. There are options but well recommended for custom handmade costumes is Mia. Costumes are also available in.Carrefour and imaginarium.

And the cake?
Whether you plan to bake the cake yourself, or get one made, read more here about Caking and Baking in Bucharest by Katia from Maison V.

And the gift!
What about you attending a party. Well how about getting fancy dress from Mia. Buying a gift you can consider something from imaginaroum. A gift voucher for cinema or bowling is nice for older children. Goodbooks in.English from.anthony frost, maua, varturesti
